The Solar System

Outside

I drew the sun and then all of the planets in order with our Easter Egg Chalk. I helped each child jump form planet to planet while shouting out their names. They are all waiting on the Sun in the background.

We did an experiment to help the kids understand why the stars look so small and the Sun doesn’t. We took balls that were the about the same size and then kept one close to us and had the other ones far away (can you see them back there). I asked which ball LOOKED the smallest? But is it the smallest? No, it just looks that way from far away. Just like the Sun and the stars.Smile

This has nothing to do with the solar system but we got a package(new car stereo) with these peanuts that dissolve so we used paintbrushes with water to make them stick.
