Not a great picture! The idea of this activity was to teach “Orbiting”!
We used the planet print outs from 1plus1plus1equals1.com, laminated them and stuck them on the fan blades with tape. I stood on a chair to do this and then gently turned the blades. As the orbited around the Sun(the light) we talked about how the further planets have to travel a lot further to get around the Sun because they are father away. If you want to get a laugh, turn the fan on full speed! The kids think it is so funny!
Variation: Don’t print or laminate! Let your child draw the planets and cut them out! then they can tell you where to put them and even right the names for some writing practice!
